All my life I have been involved with textile art, painting and exhibitions. The first I recorded was in November 1991 in Sri Lanka, where I lived, in the Goethe Institute, Colombo

The Exhibitons were very picturesque and we always opened them by lighting a lamp I lived in Sri Lanka until 2004 and we had an exhibition almost every year, in Colombo, the Capital and all the foreigners were invited. The invitation card looked something like this. I also exhibited in the Alliance Francaise

I had my own company making silk tapestries and silk textiles-I was even breeding my own silk- and have had a great time making everything I wanted from scratch, all the raw materials I made myself

Because I had so many women employed and such a large production I had to sell it abroad, and also exhibit in many countries: Sweden, Norway, Germany, San Francisco, Oregon, Tokyo, Reykjavik(Iceland) ,Malaysia, Indonesia ,England in very reputable Galleries and some less known

Nos complace presentar un concepto innovador y pionero en España: Se trata de un Centro Polivalente de Arte dotado de talleres, estudios y Residencia Internacional de Artistas, concebido para que artistas y creativos de todo el mundo, de distintos campos, especialidades y culturas, puedan trabajar, convivir, intercambiar conocimientos, compartir inquietudes, experiencias e ilusiones mientras realizan un proyecto, lejos de su entorno laboral y familiar, con el objetivo de conseguir su desarrollo artístico, personal y humano.

El Centro se encuentra en la Mancha, tierra de Don Quijote, comarca de la Manchuela, está situado en un entorno natural privilegiado y único, un lugar de incomparable belleza integrado en la naturaleza, ideal para el desarrollo de la creatividad y la visión espacial.

Surge por iniciativa de su director, el escultor Lucas Karrvaz, y su materialización se está llevando a cabo gracias a la Fundación que lleva su nombre y a la inestimable colaboración del Ayuntamiento de Alcalá del Júcar, el Centro de Desarrollo Comarcal CEDER, Consejería de Industria, Trabajo, Turismo y Artesanía y la Junta de Comunidades de Castilla la Mancha.

F omenta el arte como lenguaje universal y nexo de unión entre los pueblos, para ello facilita el entorno de trabajo, la convivencia y el intercambio cultural y humano entre artistas y creativos de distintas nacionalidades y culturas en un ambiente de armonía, colaboración y mutuo respeto.

El dialogo, la tertulia, el intercambio de experiencias, conocimientos y puntos de vista de una forma informal y distendida, forman parte de la vida del Centro, donde los residentes actúan como vasos comunicantes de tal forma que lo que cada uno de ellos aporta, sirve para elevar el nivel de conocimientos del grupo y contribuye a reafirmar sus propias convicciones.

Los residentes se alojan cómodamente en la Residencia Internacional Mirador del Júcar dentro del propio complejo, durante el tiempo necesario para llevar a cabo su proyecto creativo. Se trata de una casa rural construida en piedra sobre antiguas viviendas-cueva, cuenta con habitaciones individuales, dobles y triples, todas ellas con baño integrado, dispone de zonas comunes con biblioteca, sala de internet, varias cocinas, salones, barbacoa etc.

Hungarian Multicultural Center, Inc.® (HMC), non-profit organization, invites
interested visual artists and writers to submit application for its residency programs
in Budapest, Hungary. Its principal focus is an international residency program to
which artists from around the world are invited. The goal is to provide a supportive
community with uninterrupted time to work.

The HMC International Artists' Residencies offers visual artists two-weeks workshop.
The residency session concludes with Symposium/Seminar and a major exhibit at
Vizivarosi Gallery, Budapest.

In the Sparkasse Würzburg an exhibition with the title "human rights"organised by Amnesty International.

In Cuba people earn the equivalent of $15 a month, but to eat they need nearly $200 . How they get the rest of the money is their problem. Many get it through relatives abroad, who know their family is starving and they somehow put the money together. Others have to help themselves, by doing some small business, for example when I was there I knew of people selling cheese, ice cream, CDs whatever. They have to do this while they are being followed by the police because earning money in Cuba, even if to eat, is a crime.

When I was in Cuba, I learned,how all the stories that I had heard over the years, that seemed to come out of the fantasy of some Cuba-starved exiled Cuban, were all true, and much more.The inhuman treatment of the Cubans by the Government of Fidel Castro, will be legendary in the world, I am sure.

This graffitti was truly written by someone on a wall in Santiago de Cuba, across from a food shop where you can buy food in dollars.

many of the other artists atending the symposium were lovely people, I could not connect with all, specially since there was often no common language-most spoke Russian and I don´t speak Russian But I am glad I met them and I wish them the best.

Today one defines art as an unique expression of the artist, whatever the technique might be, but painting has also another quality, how well you can apply the paint to the canvas, the part that is a craft. I have been in many countries but in my entire life I have not seen such a quality of painters. I had to hold my breath while watching them, how very well they paint.I don´t know, my russian colleagues what cities they come from and where they studied, but obviously they have been trained so well, and they are so talented, that just to watch them pick up paint with the brush and apply it to the canvas is a miracle and brings ecstasy to my eyes.It has been an honor for me to come together with them, and they

have left an impression in me I will never forget

Inscripciones: se aceptarán obras hasta el 18 de Junio de 2010

Bases:
- Pueden participar artistas plásticos de todo el mundo, sin límite de edad.
Importante: las medidas no serán superiores a 60x60 centímetros, en cualquiera de sus lados, incluyendo el marco. Las obras deben estar listas para colgar.
- Tema, técnica y estilo libres. Pueden participar pinturas, fotografías, esculturas, dibujos y grabados.
- Las obras deberán enviarse por agencia de transporte (preferiblemente), por correo tradicional o personalmente a: Asociación Cultural Aires de Córdoba. c/ Arguiñán, 2. 14002 Córdoba (España). El envío de las obras a la citada dirección será por cuenta de los participantes.
- El precio de inscripción será de 60 euros por obra (80 euros dos obras), que abonará el artista participante al depositar la obra. Para artistas pertenecientes a CIALEC, el precio por obra será de 30 euros (60 euros dos obras).
- El dinero sobrante será destinado al mantenimiento de la revista cultural “Aires de Córdoba”.
- Cada artista pondrá al reverso de su obra una ficha con su nombre, el título, ciudad y país y precio de venta de su obra. En caso de venta de la obra por parte de alguna persona interesada, dicho precio de venta será entregado al artista en su totalidad.
- Serán otorgados sendos Primer, Segundo y Tercer premio a las mejores obras por un jurado convocado al efecto, al igual que 5 Menciones de Honor y un Premio del Público elegido en votación libre durante los días de la muestra.
- Todas y cada una de las obras presentadas quedaran reflejadas en un catálogo en el que serán incluidos los galardones y el cual será enviado a todos los participantes por email en formato pdf.
- La Asociación se encargará de la correcta difusión del evento en los medios de comunicación y diversos portales de arte, así como en la revista cultural Aires de Córdoba, Revista ConectArte, www.airesdecordoba.com y Aires Tv.
- La Organización garantizará el máximo cuidado en el tratamiento y custodia de las obras, durante el tiempo que éstas permanezcan en su poder, declinando toda responsabilidad por los desperfectos o pérdidas que se pudieran originar. El autor/a renuncia así a cualquier tipo de reclamación por dicho concepto. No se entregarán resguardos de participación, aunque a los participantes que lo soliciten se les podrá sellar una nota de entrega.
- Una vez finalizada la exposición, los participantes podrán retirar las obras presentadas durante los quince días siguientes a la clausura. Podrá solicitarse la devolución de obras a través de agencia de transportes, en este caso con cargo al artista. Pasado el plazo fijado, las obras que no hayan sido recogidas se considerarán donadas a dicha Entidad, para su Fondo Artístico y Cultural, o a fin de que ésta recaude recursos para emplearlos en la realización de actividades culturales y sociales sin ánimo de lucro, según establecen sus Estatutos Sociales. No se atenderán peticiones de devolución pasado dicho plazo. La Asociación Cultural no correrá con gasto alguno de devolución de obras ni atenderá solicitudes de devolución fuera de las fechas establecidas en estas bases.
- Todos los participantes, por el mero hecho de participar, aceptan el contenido completo de estas Bases. Cualquier duda sobre la interpretación de las Bases será resuelta unilateralmente por la Asociación Cultural Aires de Córdoba de forma inapelable.
